MMA star McGregor in plea negotiations after melee

Conor Mc Gregor Court Case

On April 5, former UFC lightweight champion McGregor crashed UFC 223 media day and allegedly attacked a bus carrying other fighters.

Irish mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor is due in court in NY for a hearing on charges stemming from a backstage melee that was caught on camera.

McGregor was subsequently arrested, charged with three counts of assault, one of criminal mischief and released on bail.

Returning to UFC to fight will put McGregor back on the straight and narrow after a troublesome couple of months, and the UFC president Dana White has recently revealed when he is going to be speaking to the Irishman to sort out his future once and for all.

McGregor, who hasn't fought in the UFC since in over 19 months, appeared before a judge with his accomplice Cian Cowley.

Spoke briefly to Conor McGregor's manager @AudieAttar outside the courthouse about today's hearing and what's next in terms of the negotiations with the UFC.

McGregor last fought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship in November 2016, when he defeated Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight belt.

"I don't think you're going to have any resolution, but you'll have more information that both parties and pundits and everyone alike to assess where this is heading", said Latham. Either way, it is unlikely the fighter will face jail time. "I don't know what Conor and his team have worked on", White told TMZ Sports.
