Tyson Fury beats Sefer Seferi in comeback fight

"I opted for a bigger opponent but we couldn't really get anybody, there was nobody available".

"I could have knocked him out in the first round but what good would that have done me?"

And Fury's next test could be at Windsor Park, Belfast on August 18.

Both Fury and promoter Frank Warren admitted that they were disappointed in Seferi's inability to answer the bell for the fifth round but neither are under any illusions about the plan to ease the former world heavyweight champion back into the fight game.

Fury's skills are still intact, although they lacked the zip and zing of his win over Klitschko.

Fury made short work of Seferi as the pair of them exchanged a kiss, amusing looks but very few punches before the Albanian quit on his stool at the end of the 4th round.

The 6-foot-9 Englishman claimed to have lost 112 pounds for his comeback, and although he still has more to lose after weighing in at 276 pounds, he showed his boxing skills have not been eroded by the layoff.

So easy that Fury could afford to joke about it early on and glance out at a scuffle taking place in the crowd.

But the talking - and Fury does a lot of it - will stop when he takes on 41-year-old Albanian Sefer Seferi - who has suffered just one defeat in 24 fights - in a ten-round non-title bout at the Manchester Arena.

Fury in particular was clearly distracted by the fight between a group of thugs and the events have of course taken social media by storm.

Seferi, who was almost five stones lighter and seven inches smaller, did show some ambition early on but Fury's height and movement ensured there was never going to be an upset at Manchester Arena.

But Fury's time away away from boxing has been far from a laughing matter.

Fury's English rival Anthony Joshua, the WBA-IBF-WBO champion, and American Deontay Wilder, the WBC champion, remain distant targets for Fury, whose priority now will be to build up some momentum against tougher opponents.

Fury has remained news while inactive due to a personal crisis that involved problems with mental health, excessive drinking, admitting cocaine use and serving a doping ban.
