Amazon Adds Moto Z3 Play, Moto G6 Play to Prime Exclusive Lineup

Pre-orders are live for Moto Z3 Play and the newly announced Prime Exclusive G6 Play and Z3 Play

The Moto Z3 Play will cost you $499, and you can pre-order through B&H Photo, Best Buy,, or you can get it as an Amazon Prime Exclusive Phone. The biggest attraction here, if you ask me, is the Moto Z3 Play.

Moving over to a more affordable device, the Moto G6 Play is also becoming a Prime Exclusive today, right alongside its brother, the Moto G6. And if you purchase the unlocked model, it comes with the Moto Mod that adds additional battery life. Following Amazon's acquisition of Whole Foods, the membership can even get you discounts on groceries - only in some areas of the country for now, however. There is a small trade-off for the savings - some Amazon apps and widgets are pre-installed on the device, including Alexa. Today, the recently launched Moto Z3 Play and Moto G6 Play are joining the program.

After announcing the Moto Z3 Play earlier this month, Motorola today announced that the device is now available for pre-order. Around back there are 12MP and 5MP cameras, and there is an 8MP front-facing camera on the other side. It comes with 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage with support for up to 128 GB more with a micro SD card and is available in Deep Indigo. Customers can also set Alexa as the default assist app, accessible with a long-press of the home button. The Moto G6 Play is available for Prime members for just $189.99 (regularly $199) and is compatible with Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. Learn more about the Moto G6 Play here.

Moto Z3 Play owners can access Amazon Alexa by double-pressing the Home button, and it can also be assigned to be the default digital assistant if you want.

The Moto Z3 Play is priced at $449.99 and it's available in black.

As for the Moto G6 Play, that has a 5.7-inch LCD HD+ display, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage, and support for microSD cards up to 128GB.

As a reminder, Prime Exclusive Phones are available at discounted pricing for Prime members and provide a single sign-on experience offering Prime members easy access to their Prime benefits.

Also of note, Amazon has stopped lockscreen ads on Prime Exclusive devices, so when there was once a feeling that these devices were just piled with ads, that's really no longer the case.
