PSV midfielder Hirving Lozano 'very happy' over Barcelona, Real Madrid interest

Hirving Lozano

Barcelona have made an approach to sign Hirving Lozano from PSV this summer.

Mexico's 22-year-old winger Hirving "Chucky" Lozano is quickly becoming the breakout young star of the 2018 World Cup, and after he found the back of the net against Germany on the first matchday, Lozano showed his versatility Saturday against South Korea.

The 22-year-old then set up the second goal as Mexico beat South Korea 2-1 on Saturday to make it two wins from two in Russian Federation. And Lozano's father has since confirmed as much in an interview with ESPN Radio Formula.

There's been an approach from Barça but there's nothing clear at the moment.

Lozano, who now plays for PSV in Holland, has become one of the most sought-after players in Europe this summer after his performance in the opening game against Germany, when he scored the winning goal. When the World Cup's over, we will have a better idea of the reality: if he will stay at PSV or move to another team.

The club will obviously hope to keep him, yet they may not be able to refuse an offer from the cash-strapped Spanish side, who are known to pursue their targets relentlessly. Another win would see them seal qualification for the knockout round.
