Lingard in line for bumper Man Utd contract

A report claims that Jesse Lingard is in line for a new double-your-money contract at Manchester United following his impressive displays for England in Russian Federation.

Lingard starred in Group G to help the country comfortably qualify for the knockout stage and played the whole 120 minutes as Gareth Southgate's men beat Colombia on penalties - the first England team to win a shoot-out at the World Cup - to reach the quarter-finals.

It's believed Lingard is highly-rated by Mourinho and the Three Lions star recently spoke highly of his Portuguese boss.

Lingard is in line for a new contract at United, which will see him earn £150,000-a-week, according to The Sun.

The report comes despite the fact that Lingard only signed a new four-year contract at Manchester United worth £75,000 a week back in April.

An Old Trafford source is quoted by the publication as saying: "Jesse has shown that he is a top class performer on and off the pitch".

"He has a fabulous season for the club a year ago and has taken that form onto the worldwide stage so far".

NAIJ.com previously reported that Manchester United striker Jesse Lingard was been attacked by fans for posing for a moody-looking snap dressed head-to-toe in almost £2,000 of Gucci gear.

The 25-year-old appeared in an indecisive mood as he looks out from a hotel window in London's giant Shard building.
