O'Quinn takes shot at Knicks after signing with Pacers

O'Quinn said that he turned down an offer to return to the Knicks and added that he was looking forward to playing for something other than next year's draft, per Charlie Clifford of WISH-TV in Indianapolis.

Kyle O'Quinn is throwing his weight around again - this time at the Knicks.

O'Quinn's contract with IN is for one year, $4.5 million, and he will look to contribute off the bench.

O'Quinn averaged 7.1 points and 6.1 rebounds in 18.1 minutes per game for the Knicks last season. Before that, O'Quinn played for the Orlando Magic, who had a league-worst 68 wins over three seasons. While New York can provide a fun environment to play in, the basketball atmosphere there has not been conducive for winning over the past several seasons.

That being said, the perpetually rebuilding Knicks (who are now nursing their biggest star back to health after his torn ACL) had win totals of 32, 31, and 29, during O'Quinn's three years in NY. Star Kristaps Porzingis will miss a substantial portion of this season recovering from a torn ACL.

Head coach David Fizdale seemed to indicate the team's priorities when he praised the front office for "lining it up so that we're in a position next summer to make moves", per the New York Daily News' Stefan Bondy.

As for IN, they won 48 games last year, grabbed a five-seed, and probably should've beat the Cavaliers IN a seven-game series IN the first round of this past year's playoffs.
