Pakistan opener Ahmed Shehzad could be banned from cricket for up to four years after failing a drug test conducted during a domestic tournament in April, the country's cricket authorities confirmed on Tuesday. Cricketer Ahmad Shahzad has tested positive for a banned substance. However, as per the rules of the International Cricket Council, PCB had not revealed the cricketer's name.

"A player has reportedly tested positive for a prohibited substance". We should have an answer in a day or two. The report from India arrived yesterday, confirming results of the previous test.

He was also not part of the one-day worldwide squad which will play a five-match series against Zimbabwe starting Friday. Shehzad was the highest run-scorer as he scored 372 runs with three fifties and a century for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He was part of Pakistan s Twenty20 squad for the team s two worldwide matches last month, managing scores of 14 and 24, but missed out on playing for the tri-series Twenty20 in Zimbabwe which ended Sunday.

Since making his Test debut in 2013, he has scored 983 runs in 13 matches.
