Andriy Yarmolenko: West Ham sign Ukraine worldwide winger from Borussia Dortmund

West Ham United's English Chairman David Gold takes his seat for the English Premier League football match between West Ham United and Southampton at The London Stadium

West Ham United have completed the signing of winger Andriy Yarmolenko from Borussia Dortmund in what is their fifth summer signing, which has excited ex-Hammers striker Dean Ashton on Twitter.

The 28-year-old has signed a new four-year deal at the club, with co-owner David Gold announcing the move before the Hammers' official Twitter account.

A near-constant in the gossip columns for the past four or five years at least, the Ukranian has finally arrived in the Premier League - moving to the Hammers from Borussia Dortmund for the princely sum of £17.5million.

"He has 77 caps for Ukraine and has played in the Champions League for both Dynamo Kiev and Dortmund".

"We are very happy to welcome Andriy", West Ham director of football Mario Husillos said in a statement.

West Ham's joint-chairman David Sullivan says the club are determined to add more players this summer.

'The Premier League is the best league in the world and I know that an interesting project is being built here at West Ham.

The 28-year-old Ukraine global becomes the club's fifth summer signing, following the additions of Jack Wilshere (free), Ryan Fredericks (free), Lukasz Fabianski (£7m, Swansea) and Issa Diop (£22m rising to £25m, Toulouse).

West Ham do not appear to be finished there, though, with talks said to be ongoing with Felipe Anderson and Fabian Balbuena, while a £25m bid for Newcastle United skipper Jamaal Lascelles has been knocked back.

Sources have also confirmed that central defender Fabian Balbuena, now of Brazilian club Corinthians, is set to be unveiled imminently; West Ham have triggered the Paraguay international's release clause.
