Astros win on ridiculous walk-off play by Alex Bregman

Alex Bregman was up in the bottom of the 11th inning of a 5-5 game between Houston and the Oakland A's with runners were on first and second.

But the way he won the game for the Astros on Tuesday wasn't in the way you'd expect.

Then, the ball started curving back to the foul line and A's catcher Jonathan Lucroy made a charge for it.

His weird walk-off on Tuesday wasn't even his first like it. Bregman hit a similar pop-up walk-off in April, though that ball got a little bit more air time. He picked up the ball and went to tag Bregman, who was still near home plate.

Bregman's night also included a pair of home runs, but those have already been forgotten because of what happened on the ball that barely made its way into play - a ball that left Bregman upset after the game. As Lucroy tried to tag Bregman, he dropped the ball and threw it into right field when trying to throw to first. Bregman stayed in the baseline while running, so he wasn't called out for interference.

"It's a good throw but it hit him right in the side of the helmet", Lucroy said. He hit two home runs to give himself 19 for the season, and he did enough to help his team win in walk-off fashion.
