Kylie Jenner Will Soon Be the Youngest Self-Made Billionaire Ever

Within the next year, she's set to become the youngest self-made billionaire ever, besting Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Snapchat king Evan Spiegel.

The 20-year-old covers the new issue of Forbes' America's Women Billionaires issue.

Jenner told Forbes that she invested $250,000 of her own money from modeling gigs in 2015 to pay an outside company to produce the first 15,000 of lip kits that eventually launched into a full fletched cosmetic line.

In addition to bringing in millions from her families' reality shows and many more millions from product endorsement deals, Forbes estimates her booming makeup company, Kylie Cosmetics, is worth almost $800 million. Thanks mostly to Kylie Cosmetics, Jenner has built an empire estimated to be worth around $900 million.

If Jenner keeps this up, she's expected to make history by becoming the youngest self-made billionaire of both men and women within the next year. "It could easily be an instant game-changing acquisition for any company on the hunt for a winning brand with a younger customer", senior VP or merchandising at Ulta Tara Simon said.

"I struggled for a minute with finding something to do on my own", Jenner explained. Mama Kris Jenner stepped in from there, securing their own e-commerce platform to relaunch Kylie Lip Kits as Kylie Cosmetics on Shopify, where it just exploded. At the tender age of 20, and between having a baby, Kylie has made the Forbes' annual list of America's Richest Self-Made Women.

"Ever since I was in sixth grade, I would wear purple eye shadow", Kylie recalled. "I turned to makeup to help me feel more confident". With her Puma deal, television shows Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Life of Kylie, and other endorsement deals, $900 million is probably a conservative guess at Jenner's fortune. "I don't want to do it with anyone else, '" Jenner said. After leaping to $307 million in 2016, revenue was up just 7% in 2017, despite the addition of 30 products.

Reflecting on the future, Jenner said she plans on working on Kyle Cosmetics "forever" noting that maybe one day she'll "pass this on to" daughter Stormi "if she's into it". "It's always something that we're willing to explore", the matriarch tells Forbes.
