Apple updates MacBook Pro with faster performance and new features for pros

The updated Apple 15-inch MacBook Pro features a 6-core 8th-generation Intel core processor. According to Apple, the 15-inch model is up to 70% faster and the 13-inch model two times faster than earlier models.

The 15-inch MacBook Pro, meanwhile, can be even more potent.

The new laptops include screens with True Tone technology, which shifts colors automatically based on the surrounding physical environment. These changes are expected to include better chips and "significant display-performance upgrades" for the MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac and Mac mini. And if cleaning didn't work, the repairs often involved replacing the entire top case, the area where the keyboard rests, which also included replacing the laptop's battery.

The Blackmagic eGPU is now available exclusively from the Apple website and Apple stores for $699.

Apple held 6.9 per cent of the PC market in the first quarter of 2018, according to Gartner, trailing 21 per cent for HP Inc., 20 per cent for Lenovo, and 16 per cent for Dell.

The aptly named miniature desktop computer Mac mini may get an update before the year ends. There's also a revamped "third generation" keyboard that promises to be quieter and (hopefully) not a fragile.

For users who pound their machines outdoors - typically field editors and photographers - the fragility of the MacBook Pro's butterfly mechanism made it a non-starter.

There will also be new iPads, with Face ID and no home button.

Apple's shares rose 1.2 per cent to $190.16 in NY, valuing the company at US$934.3 billion.

Now that the 2015 notebook is gone, Apple is selling the new 2018 models with the previous 2017 ones. Rumors have not been clear on whether the Apple Watch itself will be larger or if the bigger display will come from a reduction in bezels. As for customers that prefer to purchase these notebooks at Apple Authorized Resellers instead, they have to wait slightly longer as we don't have any exact on-ground release date for the time being.

Kuo appears to confirm previous rumours of a trio of iPhones being formulated; an updated 5.8-inch OLED model and a new 6.5-inch OLED model, plus a new 6.1-inch LCD model.
