Former UCLA basketball player Billy Knight died on Sunday after filming a suicide video he released earlier in the day, and some details surrounding the matter are emerging.

Knight was 39 years old at the time of his death.

Knight played for UCLA from 1998-2002 and went on to have stints as a professional player in France and Japan. Each season they advanced to the NCAA Tournament under Steve Lavin and reached the regional semifinals in his final three seasons.

Billy Knight, the former UCLA basketball player who killed himself this weekend, was arrested just weeks ago for molestation, TMZ has revealed.

In the video titled "Billy Knight "I am Sorry Lord", Knight talked to the camera, saying it was his "last message on Earth" and "I can't continue on". Knight's official cause of death has yet to be determined, but will be examined by the Maricopa County Medical Examiner.

The outlet also says that in the weeks leading up to his death, Knight was arrested and charged with six felonies for sexual encounters involving a girl under 15. "Eric, man... I love you too". I lied, I cheated and I stole from many people. I was a taker. He follows by admitting to a life of sin, discussing mental illness, and apologizing to his family and friends. I hear voices in my head constantly and I don't know where they come from.

"I just feel like I don't belong here on Earth, so my time is up", Knight said during the video. You can't play around with life. Speaking to the Los Angeles Daily news, Escoto said that "Honeycutt had been going through some things." . Knight started all 33 games in the 2001-02 campaign, but he never broke into the National Basketball Association, bouncing around the D-League and France and Japan after his college career.

TMZ was the first to report the news.
