Fortnite Season 5 Adds a New Squad Vehicle, Desert Biome & More

The new season of Fortnite is coming back online but you may notice that there will be some quite hefty waiting in queue errors as everyone attempts to jump into the new game.

As for the map itself, Epic has added in a new desert biome which was something that was heavily hinted it over the last couple of days with all sorts of teasers. The new vehicle is called the All Terrain Kart (ATK) golf cart.

The 5.0 update will be live once the server maintenance ends, allowing players to experience a brand new Battle Pass and all of the new changes.

This is on top of the other skins previously leaked and revealed as part of the games new Season 5 5.0 Patch Notes.

Check out the Season 5 trailer and Battle Pass promo video below.

TwoEpicBuddies also uncovered lots of new gliders and pickaxes on the way with the v5.0 patch - as well as another secret skin unlocked at the highest tier of the battle pass.

Get a speed boost after drifting. The height of the jump will depend on how well players are able to lean back and release at the same time.

The roof of the ATK also functions as a bounce pad. Epic has brought some of them down to earth in the form of Rifts. There are truckloads of tweaks, changes and additions - ranging from weapon alterations to new vehicles - so study up before dropping.

Interestingly, the centre of some Storm circles will now shift in random directions as well as shrink.

"Fortnite" season 5 also adds indicators on how many pellets hit when players are using shotguns. Shotgun spread is now consistent with no random variation, the suppressed SMG has been amended to fall in line with other SMGs and the hunting rifle aim assist has been reduced to match other sniper rifles.

Epic Games has also nerfed the "double pump" strategy yet again, as another shotgun will not be able to be fired for "a very short time" after firing another one. More importantly however, the Nintendo Switch version of Fortnite gets gyroscope control support and Fortnite iOS gets a host of options such as autofire.
