Get a Look at Sacha Baron Cohen's New Series Debuting This Week

Sacha Baron Cohen

Sacha Baron Cohen is returning to TV in a satirical comedy titled Who Is America?

Baron Cohen's new series will be titled Who is America? according to Vulture, whose editors noticed posters for the upcoming series in NY.

Who Is America? debuts on Showtime on July 15th. (7×30′) on Sunday, with Channel 4 in the United Kingdom and Canal+ in France carrying the first episode a day later.

Trump said in 2012 that he "immediately" walked out of the interview on "Da Ali G Show" because he knew it was a trick.

"You've been warned", the posters tease, while giving us the first glance of Cohen's character - a guy suspiciously peeking out of American flags with various eyewear.

Cohen's show "Who Is America?" premieres Sunday on Showtime and will feature the Cheney interview, according to a promotional video.

We see Cheney on screen, sitting in an armchair and happily signing the apparent torture device.

A teaser for the show, unveiled last night, shows a clip in which he gives former Vice President Dick Cheney a waterboarding kit to sign... which he duly does.

A decade removed from his career peak with boundary-pushing characters including Ali G, Borat and Bruno, it's fair to say that Sacha Baron Cohen has had a tough time finding the right projects for his comedic voice. "He is the premier provocateur of our time, but not for the sake of 'gotcha" moments.

Cheney himself teased the show in a clip posted Monday by Showtime, the premium-cable network where 'Who is America?' is set to premiere next Sunday.

Cohen had previously posted a tweet on July 4 featuring Donald Trump ripping into him, calling him a "third-rate character" and telling him to "go to school, learn about being amusing". The video included footage of Donald Trump insulting the British comedian and ended with the logo of the now-defunct Trump University.

'Who Is America?' is billing itself as "a quest for the truth about people, places and politics".
