Honeymooner dies after crashing into wife while zip-lining

Israeli Honeymooner Killed, New Wife Severely Injured In Zip-Line Tragedy

A newlywed Israeli husband has died following a freak zip-lining accident with his wife aboard a cruise ship. The incident left the husband dead and the wife seriously injured, according to theWashington Post.

Egael Tishman, 24, and his wife Shif Fanken, 27, from Israel, were visiting the Bay Islands, a northern Honduran archipelago in the Caribbean Sea, as part of a honeymoon cruise. Zip-lining was an activity aboard their cruise ship and the newly married couple wanted to partake. One of the stops along the way was Roatan.

The couple booked the Extreme Caribe Zip Line Tour through the Royal Caribbean website, according to a local firefighter.

"Our Care Team is providing support and assistance to the guests' family and friends", Torres said in a statement.

Both Tishman and Franken survived the initial collision and were conscious at the hospital after they were extracted from a wooded area, but reportedly suffered serious injuries, including broken ribs. The husband said he was having trouble breathing in the ambulance and was administered oxygen.

Guerrero confirmed the death of the man and that the woman had been taken by ambulance plane to the U.S. Hours later, Tishman passed away.

Fanken was transported via air to a hospital in the United States and is believed to be in a stable condition.

An investigation has been launched into how the accident occurred.

The researchers also found that this increase came with a rise in injuries related to zip-lining: About 16,850 nonfatal injuries related to zip-lining were treated in USA emergency rooms from 1997 through 2012.
