Trump protestors in the United Kingdom are getting ready for President visit

Stay out of sight

President Donald Trump hasn't always had the best luck when it comes to making hand-to-hand contact with his wife, First Lady Melania Trump.

He's one of the most divisive presidents in USA history.

More than 50,000 people have signed up to demonstrate in London, where they intend to fly an oversized balloon depicting the president as an angry baby in a diaper.

At the summit, he also stressed the importance of all allies to reach the minimum two percent spending target on defence, arguing the United States were not being "treated fairly, but now it will".

But there are still plenty of detractors, as loudly demonstrated by a passenger in auto driving past the United States flag-adorned pub who shouted "F*** Trump", to which Mr Smyth chuckled.

Mr Khan defended the blimp baby: "There are two issues; one is the freedom to protest and the right to free speech and the second is our issues on President Trump". He's not coming here for himself.

"Donald Trump could do perfectly fine doing rallies in the U.S.".

He says his loyalty is to the position of president, not the person doing the job. "I was happy when Obama did it".

The 36-year-old, who described Mr Trump's rhetoric as not "entirely to my taste", said she believes he is a proud American nationalist who has generally stuck to the pledges he made to voters.

Trump watchers have kept a close eye on the first couple's public displays of affection, especially after the first lady was caught on camera clearly swatting away her husband's hand during a trip to Tel Aviv, Israel in May of a year ago.

In fact, just the opposite, they say.

Mr Trump will instead be ensconced at Windsor Castle, west of London on Friday when a blimp tethered next to the Houses of Parliament. "The people voted to break it up so I would imagine that's what they would do, but maybe they're taking a different route - I don't know if that is what they voted for". That prompted almost half a million people to sign a petition calling for Trump to be banned from the UK.

Unlike visits from previous presidents, he won't be spending much time in London after his arrival.

Mt Trump refused to endorse Ms May as prime minister and heaped praise on his "friend" Boris Johnson a day after he quit as foreign secretary.

Trump is expected to arrive after a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Belgium and will meet with Prime Minister Theresa May, meet Queen Elizabeth at Windsor Castle, and will attend a black-tie dinner at the home of former World War Two leader Winston Churchill.

Then, to rest up from meetings and dinners, he'll head to Scotland to play golf.
