Donald Trump arrives in the United Kingdom on Thursday for his first visit as president, during which he will meet the Queen and Theresa May and visit Scotland.

The demonstrators plan to loft a large blimp-like balloon over the skies beside Westminster Palace, depicting a bronzed "Trump Baby" in diapers, clutching a mobile phone.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to protest against Trump's visit in central London on Friday, citing his alleged Islamophobia, controversial policies and "incendiary rhetoric" towards people with disabilities and the LGBTQ community.

Gardner, who works with refugees as part of her doctoral research at the London School of Economics, said Trump's speeches about refugees and immigrants are "a very unsafe line of rhetoric to be normalized".

The US President reached London after attending a North Atlantic Treaty Organisation summit in Brussels, where he said member countries agreed to increase their military spending. The president's Scots heritage is well known, and I hope he enjoys his visit to Scotland'.

On Friday night, the president will travel to Scotland, Turnberry, the South Ayrshire golf resort he bought in 2014.

Trump "has proudly sparked passionate often divisive emotions about things, I think Americans living here to eager to turn out and express their views", he said.

Mr Trump with meet with UK Prime Minister Theresa May and the Queen.

"And they agree with me on immigration - that's why you have Brexit in the first place, because of immigration".

Trump next heads to Windsor Castle later Friday for tea with the queen, as protesters stage a mass demonstration in London.

"If Trump truly wanted to emulate Churchill, he would celebrate the peace and prosperity of Europe and seek to strengthen rather than destroy trans-Atlantic ties", said Amanda Sloat, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and a former State Department official in the Obama administration.

Mr. Trump angered May and many Britons by tweeting inflammatory and unverified videos made by Britain First, an anti-Muslim group whose leaders have been convicted of hate crimes, and by characterizing parts of London and other cities as no-go areas because of a purported Muslim-related crime wave.
