Microsoft has just released new preview builds for Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server version 1809, the two upcoming releases in the Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) and Semi-Annual Channel.
Now here we are with 3rd party ISO images of Redstone 5 Build 17713. Importantly, Microsoft will also reset its Skip Ahead program, so that active users may be brought in as Windows Insiders, to receive regular build updates.
Through Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17713, Microsoft has also improved Notepad.
There's also a security-only update, KB4338823, which contains a subset of the fixes. Then, once Microsoft promotes the build to the Semi-Annual Channel (SAC) for broad availability like they have done today, you should begin rolling it out to users across your environment.
Whiteboard for Windows 10 can be downloaded from the Windows Store. These new feature will be rolled out to all Windows 10 users as part of the Redstone 5 update later this year. You can find the list of fixes in this update below.
The use of express updates can potentially lower the bandwidth hits that organizations face each month with Windows 10 quality updates.
Addresses an issue in which DNS requests disregard proxy configurations in Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. You can also unpin the toolbar for an immersive reading experience.
You can install this month's Windows 10 cumulative update on your own devices by going to Settings Update & Security Check for updates.
Zoom has also been enhanced in Notepad with the current zoom displayed on screen and the option to move in and out being available under View and Zoom. For Windows client (IT pro) guidance, follow the instructions in KB4073119. Use this guidance document to enable mitigations for Speculative Store Bypass (CVE-2018-3639) in addition to the mitigations that have already been released for Spectre Variant 2 (CVE-2017-5715) and Meltdown (CVE-2017-5754). Use this guidance document to enable IBPB on some AMD processors (CPUs) for mitigating Spectre Variant 2 when switching from user context to kernel context.
Addresses an issue that causes the mouse to stop working after a user switches between local and remote sessions.
Windows Defender Application Guard, the sandboxing technology that can put applications (only the Edge browser for now) inside a virtual machine running another minimal instance of Windows, now comes with a new interface inside the Windows Security dashboard.
