Amal helps George Clooney onto private jet after scooter crash

The driver of the auto involved in George Clooney's motorbike accident in Italy said he had moved into the opposite lane moments before the crash because he had "sun in his eyes" that was obscuring his vision. Clooney is now filming a new series, "Catch 22", based on the classic novel by Joseph Heller.

The couple smiled as they arrived on the tarmac on a golf cart. Amal was by his side, helping him walk.

The star was taken to John Paul II Hospital in Olbia via an ambulance after the crash but was later discharged with minor injuries. After complaining of "a slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and arm", he was hospitalized, where he underwent an MRI, La Nuova reports.

The driver who collided with George Clooney and sent him flying six metres in the air earlier this week has claimed he didn't see the star as he was "blinded by the sun".

Although he suffered no broken bones, he will need physiotherapy to his knee.

A rep for Clooney told Fox News the actor was treated and released from an Oblia hospital.

The movie star is recovering at his rented home in Sardinia following the crash near Olbia, Italy on Tuesday, after he was briefly hospitalized, and now the plumber behind the wheel of the vehicle has opened up about the drama. TMZ reports that he was traveling at 60 miles per hour and that the impact broke his helmet. Clooney's helmet hit the windshield and broke due to the force of the impact. "I could never have imagined that I would have hit George Clooney". "Are you going to meet this person?" I'm in shock. It all happened in an instant. "And I wasn't willing or excited about the idea of getting married or having a family in the absence of that".
