Former Kanye West Model Faces Prison After Stealing Dead Man's Identity

Shannade Clermont right and her twin sister Shannon leave federal court in New York after her arraignment on Wednesday

"Bad Girls Club" star Shannade Clermont was arrested and charged for committing fraud and attempting to swipe several thousand dollars by using debit card information stolen from a deceased man, authorities in NY announced Wednesday.

The identity of the man hasn't been released but he reportedly overdosed on cocaine and fentanyl on February 1, 2017.

Manhattan federal prosecutors and the NYPD have busted Shannade Clermont of "Bad Girls Club", saying she used a dead man's debit card to rack up $20,000 in fraudulent purchases in the months after he keeled over, including airline tickets, luxury clothes purchases and cell phone payments.

Clermont faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison for one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, a maximum sentence of 15 years for one count of access device fraud, and a minimum two-year sentence for a single count of aggravated identity theft. So you tell me.

They also obtained texts, allegedly between Clermont and the man, in which she explained she'd like to see the man for the agreed on the price of $400.

"I want to see you for the amount we agreed on".

"Let's do $400", the government claims the victim said.

"OK. I'm a cool dude".

Clermont used the anonymous man's credit cards after she met up with him for a "prostitution date", in January 2017.

As Clermont waited for Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn to enter the courtroom, Clermont looked toward her twin sister, Shannon, who was seated among spectators on a courtroom bench, and quietly mouthed, "Sorry".

The model allegedly stole and used two debit cards belonging to a man who was found dead the day after paying her for her services, the attorney's office alleged in their release.

The reality star also created a fake email account in his name, then used it to create a Western Union account, and then wire transferred $1,000 to herself.

"As alleged, Shannade Clermont, a former cast member of the 'Bad Girls Club, ' lived up to her reality series reputation", U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman said.

INSIDER reached out to the listed representative for Shannon and Shannade Clermont but did not immediately receive a response. The Clermont Twins became notorious in their time on Bad Girls Club for loud arguments and a sense of arrogance to their housemates. They have since appeared in several music videos and apparel campaigns, amassing over 800,000 followers on Instagram.

Most recently, Clermont and her sister appeared in a Yeezy clothing campaign, posing as Kim Kardashian West, in a marketing campaign that dresses celebrities as the reality TV star.
