Harvey Weinstein Attorney Says He Was Misquoted in ‘Roles for Sex’ Interview

Weinstein was born "poor, ugly, Jewish", and he "had to fight his entire life" to succeed.

Harvey Weinstein says an article in "The Spectator" which just came out - purportedly quoting him as saying he traded acting roles for sex - is bogus, and the reporter who wrote the story seems to admit it.

During a talk with The Spectator, Mr. Weinstein admitted to offering young women roles for sex, a practice he described as ubiquitous in Hollywood and in the entertainment industry.

"You got lotsa girls, no girl looked at me until I made it big in Hollywood", Weinstein added.

Further in the interview, Harvey stands by his previous claims that he has never "forced himself on "a single woman" but has used his money and power to try and score the ladies".

He pointed to McGowan insisting Argento and her tragic boyfriend, the late Anthony Bourdain, had an open relationship.

Last month, he was finally brought to court in New York City on multiple charges of rape, to which he pled not guilty. Another woman, who hasn't been identified publicly yet, stated Harvey raped her after cornering her in a hotel room. The other accuser, former actress Lucia Evans, has gone public with her account of Weinstein allegedly forcing her to perform oral sex at his office in 2004.

Dozens more women have accused him of sexual misconduct ranging from harassment to assault.

Brafman says he was present, but that's not what his client said.

The 66-year-old, now charged with predatory sexual assault, is facing life in prison if convicted.

Weinstein is out on $1 million bail.
