How to Ask a Question in the App's Stories

Instagram's new

In October previous year Instagram first added the polling feature to Stories to allow your followers to weigh in on your everyday dilemmas. The updates have increased since Instagram incorporated stories into the app like those on Snapchat, its competitor.

Another Instagram update dropped while we were sleeping-and it is a new interactive sticker for your Instagram Stories called "Questions". With these, your followers' answers can be as long-winded as they want them to be.

Instagram Stories now includes a question sticker so nosy friends can quiz you on your posts.

The feature doesn't seem to have rolled out to everyone yet.

Announced in a blog post, Instagram shared that the question sticker expands on the existing polling sticker and emoji slider to "get closer with all of your friends on Instagram". With the questions sticker, launched on Tuesday, users can prompt story-watchers to ask them questions, which can be answered publicly in a subsequent post. Just swipe up to show your options and click on the Questions sticker.

If you're on auto-app update then you're good and it's already available when you open Instagram, but if you're not, go ahead and take a few minutes to manually click update. A text box appears below the user-submitted question, where other users that are viewing the Instagram story can initiate a conversation with the person posting the story.

To respond to a follower, tap their question to create a new story with an answer.

For iOS, users will also be shown a blue alignment tool to help you centre your stickers.
