Newcastle boss Benitez delighted with Kenedy signing

He will be a Newcastle United player for the entire 2018/19 season.

The winger is now with the rest of the Newcastle squad training in Ireland.

Newcastle boss Rafael Benitez has landed his third summer signing after completing a season-long loan deal for Chelsea winger Kenedy.

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is delighted to welcome back Chelsea loanee Kenedy for the whole season.

The Magpies confirmed on Thursday that the 22-year-old Brazilian will spend the 2018-19 campaign at St James' Park after impressing during a loan spell during the second half of last season.

'I aim to come here in this new season and give everything on the pitch and keep the work going from the season before'.

The club also announed the signings of both Martin Dubravka and Ki Sung-yueng as the new seasons draws nearer.

"I have received many, many messages on social media from the fans". I'm sure every fan will be happy with this signing.

He played 13 times for Newcastle last season, scoring twice.

'When the club showed an interest in me again and the call came, as the Brazilian expression goes, O bom filho à casa torna: the good son will always come home.

With no prospect of playing time at Chelsea, Kenedy has made a decision to go out on loan again, returning to Newcastle for the duration of the season - but there appears to be just one problem with the move.

He has featured 27 times in all for the Blues, netting three times, while he also spent time on loan at fellow Premier League side Watford in 2016.
