Plumber who hit George Clooney claims he was blinded by the sun

Medical personnel tend to actor George Clooney after a scooter accident in Sardinia

George and Amal Clooney photographed heading to a private jet with their twins on July 12, following his release from the hospital after his scooter crash in Italy.

"Fallout" actor has given his thoughts on the incident, which saw the Hollywood star hospitalised after he was hit by a auto as he was driving to the set of his new series Catch-22 in Sardinia, Italy, on Monday.

With Amal's help, Clooney eased his way off the cart and leaned on an assistant as he walked to the jet.

The three-time Golden Globe victor was rushed to John Paul II hospital emergency room in Olbia.

The photos, which you can see here from TMZ, are the first of the 57-year-old actor since a auto collided into him while he was riding a scooter on the Italian island of Sardinia on Tuesday, where he was filming a Hulu miniseries adaptation of Catch-22.

Local media reports said he miraculously only suffered a knee injury.

On Wednesday, a rep for the actor told People, "George was treated and released from an Olbia hospital".

The movie star is recovering at his rented home in Sardinia following the crash near Olbia, Italy on Tuesday, after he was briefly hospitalized, and now the plumber behind the wheel of the vehicle has opened up about the drama. TMZ reports that he was traveling at 60 miles per hour and that the impact broke his helmet.

George Clooney is still recovering from his serious motorcycle accident on Tuesday morning in Italy. Larson broke her foot in the collision. "I could never have imagined that I would have hit George Clooney".

"It's good to be alive", he told a friend later in the day. "Are you going to meet this person? I'm in shock. It all happened in an instant". I recognised him as soon as he took his helmet off. "And I wasn't willing or excited about the idea of getting married or having a family in the absence of that".
