Zimbabwe opposition will resist attempts to rig July 30 vote

Chamisa also skirted on diplomatic etiquette alleging that Zanu PF has brought in Russians to assist the party to rig and further said his Alliance is bringing in Germany scientists to counter the Russians.

ZEC has already published that Fidelity Printers are printing the ballot papers together with Printflow.

"The two main reasons include the decision by ZEC to refuse political parties the chance to observe the printing of the ballot papers and secondly, ZEC's failure to avail a copy of the voters roll as is provided by the law", the MDC said in a statement. Which team have you seen that plays a game without complaining, not even once to an impartial referee?

This comes as more opposition parties and independent candidates raised the stakes, passing a vote of no-confidence in Zec.

While ZEC says it has complied with the provisions of the law and made available to contestants the analysable version of the contentious biometric voters roll (BVR), the parties argue there are so many versions of the list flying around that it has become hard to tell which one will be used in the election proper on July 30.

According to the parties, Zec seems to have been distributing "many different rolls" for this election. One version had a duly nominated candidate missing.

Amid demands for an audit of the roll of voters, the candidates added: "It is possible to release one version for the audit and another for the election day".

But Zanu PF deputy secretary for legal affairs Paul Mangwana said: "We are on the ground addressing people who will vote".

Meanwhile, the MDC Alliance threatened to picket at State House.

MDC leader Nelson Chamisa and other top officials handed over a petition with a series of demands.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who took over from ousted long-time ruler Robert Mugabe in November, has promised to deliver free, fair and credible polls. Now we are saying Mnangagwa and Zanu PF must go.

The electoral register has always been a contentious feature of Zimbabwe's elections, fuelling accusations of vote rigging in previous polls.
