Prosecutors dropped charges Thursday against Stormy Daniels just hours after the porn star was arrested and accused of illegally rubbing undercover police officers' faces against her bare breasts during a performance at an OH strip club.

Daniels planned to be in Columbus on Wednesday and Thursday as part of a nationwide tour, Avenatti said.

Avenatti posted on Twitter on Thursday morning that Daniels will plead not guilty to three misdemeanor charges. According to the dismissal documents, OH law states that it is illegal to "knowingly touch a patron" on the premises of a "sexually oriented business" on which they "regularly appear nude or seminude". Officers also say she was fondling the breasts of female patrons.

"They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this? It reeks of desperation", his tweet said.

Adult film actress Stormy Daniels was arrested in Columbus, Ohio Wednesday night.

She said she signed the agreement just before the 2016 presidential election.

Daniels has been the focus of global headlines since it was revealed she received a pre-election payoff meant to buy her silence related to an alleged affair with Trump.

According to the police report, Avenatti claims there were three undercover officers at the venue where Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was performing and that as soon as Daniels was touched by a customer they immediately got up to arrest her.

Asked if Daniels' arrest could impact her legal wrangling with Cohen, Avenatti said "not at all". He initially said he used his own money to pay Daniels and was not reimbursed by Trump. Cohen has confirmed he made the payment.

In addition to Daniels, Trump has also been accused of having an affair with former Playboy Playmate Karen McDougal - a relationship which allegedly began in the spring of 2006. In May, Trump said Daniels was paid to stop "false and extortionist accusations".

Prosecutors are investigating Cohen for possible crimes related to his business dealings, a source familiar with the investigation told Reuters in April.

"They placed undercover officers in the strip club where they hoped they would be able to arrest my client", Avenatti said in a phone call.
