Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII private multiplayer beta dates announced

Ahead of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's arrival in October, Activision and Treyarch today revealed when fans will be able to first get their hands on the game via the multiplayer beta.

So what modes will be available to play?

Beyond that, the studio also revealed that the Blackout battle royale mode will get its own closed beta later in September, but once again, PlayStation 4 players will get to have a crack at it first. In September, players will be able to try out Call of Duty's new spin on battle royale, in the beta for a mode Activision and Treyarch are calling Blackout.

As mentioned, if you want to dive into Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's multiplayer beta for yourself, then be sure to head over to Amazon now to pre-order a copy of the game to ensure that you can gain access.

For the private multiplayer beta, players will fight through six maps. Early Access will start on August 10 at 10:00 a.m. PT while an open beta will begin a day later on August 11. This can be applied to Create-a-Class content when the game comes out. New Specialists will be playable along with returning Specialists Nomad and Prophet. The beta will last until the 6th August, and it'll feature all the usual modes: Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Search and Destroy.

In Control, teams alternate rounds between attacking and defending two static objectives. Each team has a limited number of lives in this first-to-three wins match-up, so strategic strikes and defensive positioning are key, making for some fast and frenetic gunfights.

Load out with Special Issue Equipment that's designed exclusively for each Specialist without costing a point against Pick 10. Acoustic Sensor. Only one piece of Gear can be used per loadout, so choose wisely. More specific details will be shared as we get closer.
