Moto E5 Play Android Go edition announced for Europe, Latin America

Except for the third phone, the Moto E5 Play, the rest two phones in the E series were launched in India.

As mentioned, the Moto E5 Play with Android Oreo (Go edition) will be available in European and Latin American markets starting this month. While the Moto E5 Play started out as a USA exclusive smartphone, it is now launching in European and Latin American countries, but this time it runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Go edition) instead of the full Android Oreo. Motorola doesn't say but we do not think it comes with Moto Actions. As for the Indian launch of the Android Go edition of Moto E5 Play, there has been no official word from Motorola yet.

The Android Go Edition, as you've probably guessed by its name, is based on Android Oreo Go.

The Moto E5 Play Android Go smartphone comes with a 5.34-inch 18:9 display with FWVGA+ (960 x 480 pixels) resolution. Keep in mind that Android Go limits devices to 1GB of RAM, whereas the regular E5 Play features 2GB of RAM. As for its camera, it will have an 8MP shooter on the back, which the company claims will be able to focus instantly, while the front-facing camera will be a 5MP with flash. For storage, the phone is expected to come with 16GB internal memory, with the option to expand to 128GB using a microSD card. Both the cameras come accompanied by a LED flash. These are the same set of cameras offered with the earlier launched Moto E5 Play. It is also splash proof with the p2i water repellent coating.

It is backed by a 2,100mAh battery which is much smaller than the 2,800mAh battery on the Moto E5 Play.

Like any modern phone, the handset will also have a fingerprint reader that is located inside the recessed Motorola logo on the rear. The Moto E5 Play Android Go smartphone is priced at Euro 109 in Europe. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details!
