Elon Musk Labels Diver Who Mocked His 'Submarine' A 'Pedo Guy'

From there his comments got more freakish, as he called Unsworth a "pedo guy". Musk struck back on Twitter, suggesting that Unsworth, a British national living in a country infamous for sex tourism, is a pedophile.

That was enough for Musk to throw a Twitter tantrum, in which he not only questioned Unsworth's knowledge, he said he never even saw Unsworth in the cave, implying he wasn't really all that important to the rescue.

Unsworth, who lives in Thailand and has spent years exploring the Tham Luang cave system where the boys were trapped, said Musk's submarine wouldn't have made it past the first 50 meters into the cave after the dive start point.

Since then, he has been arguing with people who accuse him of shoehorning himself into the drama and imagining hypotheticals in which rescuers had not deemed his hastily built submarine unnecessary and impractical. He then denied Unsworth's claim that Thai officials asked him to leave the cave site when he went there July 9, saying, "Thai navy seals escorted us in - total opposite of wanting us to leave".

But Mr Unsworth, who was instrumental in rescuing the school football team, said the vessel the SpaceX boss invented "had absolutely no chance of working" because the inventor "had no conception of what the cave passage was like".

"We will make [a video] of the mini-sub/pod going all the way to Cave 5 no problemo". He was the one who helped pinpoint exactly where the boys were within the cave complex.

The boys and their coach entered the cave just seven days before it was due to be closed because of monsoon flooding.

Dr Richard "Harry" Harris was the last member of the rescue team to leave the cave.

But with the sub not needed, he tweeted on Tuesday, "Just returned from Cave 3".

But the head of the rescue mission dismissed the option in favour of sticking with the plan for experienced cave divers to help the boys swim out.

Meanwhile the two Australians who helped in the worldwide rescue of the Wild Boars soccer team were given diplomatic immunity in the event anything went wrong during the treacherous rescue.

That tweet too was deleted.
