Showtime Responds to Misinformation About Sacha Baron Cohen's 'Who is America?' Series

The first episode focuses on, among other topics, gun control.

Over the past few weeks, we've heard complaints from several current and former conservative politicians that were duped by Sacha Baron Cohen.

The show follows Cohen - who's also known for "Borat", "Bruno", and "Da Ali G Show" - as he takes on multiple different personas in an effort to shine satirical light on the age of Trump and intense partisan divide. Not because there is anything necessary graphic in its content, but rather because the views that end up coming out on how people in the USA view guns and violence and support kids using them is absolutely shocking.

"The only thing that stops a bad man with a gun is a good boy with a gun", Morad says.
"If it had been, I would have rejected it", he said.

"In less than a month, your children can evolve from a first grader.to a first grenader".

Trailed by a blaze of pre-launch publicity and a furious backlash from public figures who believe they have been pranked, its splashy debut won most attention Sunday for hoodwinking Republican politicians into endorsing a made-up plan to train pre-schoolers how to fire a gun. Nor was the idea even presented to me directly.

Asked on Monday to comment, Rohrabacher said in a statement, "Cohen's people apparently used footage from an interview I submitted to earlier this year for a bogus Israeli television company supposedly celebrating the country's 70th anniversary". Ph.D., a man confined to a wheelchair by choice (to conserve his energy) and wants to discuss health-care with Bernie Sanders, as well as an ex-con artist who shows his pieces to a gallery owner, revealing that they were painted with feces and semen "extracted from his cellmates".

A confused Sanders replies, "If you put everybody into the 1 per cent, it wouldn't be the 1 per cent".

Following Palin's claims that Baron Cohen "duped" her into an interview for Who Is America? by passing himself off as an American veteran with disabilities, "fake wheelchair and all", Showtime has released a statement calling out the "widespread misinformation" about the show.
