Princess Eugenie invites 1200 members of the public to her Windsor wedding

Invitees to the castle grounds will also include members of the local community, children from the schools attended by the princess, royal household staff and representatives of charities supported by Eugenie and Jack.

"Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie of York and Mr. Jack Brooksbank will invite members of the public to join in the celebrations of their wedding on Friday 12th October", a statement from Buckingham Palace read.

An online application form to attend the nuptials is open until August 8, and one person can request spaces for up to four people, so long as they live at a United Kingdom or British Forces postal address and are over five years old.

It is the same venue where Harry, younger son of heir-to-the-throne Prince Charles, Wednesday US actress Meghan Markle at a glittering ceremony in May and Eugenie is copying some of her cousin's plans for her big day.

The move to invite members of the public to the grounds of Windsor comes after 2,640 royal fans were honoured to recieve an invite to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's wedding in May.

If successful, they will be able to watch the arrival of the congregation, including members of the Royal Family, and have a prime position as the bride and groom leave St George's Chapel after the ceremony.

The couple will then take a short carriage trip through Windsor, echoing that of Harry and Meghan when huge crowds turned out to watch. "The carriage will process through the grounds of Windsor Castle, departing via Castle Hill to proceed along part of the High Street before returning to the Castle via Cambridge Gate", the statement concluded.
