Son Heung-min signs new five-year Tottenham Hotspur contract

Son Heung Min has signed a new long-term contract with Tottenham

South Korea worldwide, Son, 26, has signed a new five-year deal until 2023 while Argentine Lamela, 26, has penned a four-year extension until 2022.

The 26-year-old has scored 47 goals in 140 appearances for Tottenham since signing from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, making him the top Asian scorer in Premier League history.

He represented his country at the World Cup in Russian Federation, scoring twice including one in stoppage time against Germany in their final group game, delivering a fatal blow to the holders as they exited the tournament.

Tottenham have agreed new long-term contracts with forwards Son Heung-min and Erik Lamela.

Son scored 26 Premier League goals across the last two seasons, linking up well with World Cup Golden Boot victor Harry Kane.

Should Korea progress to the latter stages he could miss the games against Fulham, Manchester United and Watford, but will return in time to face Liverpool in the first scheduled game at Tottenham's new stadium.

Son became the top Asian goalscorer in Premier League history with the victor against Crystal Palace last November, surpassing the tally of 19 set by former Manchester United man Park Ji-Sung.

Tottenham kick off their pre-season preparations with a meeting with Roma in California on July 26, prior to meeting Barcelona at the Rose Bowl Stadium on July 29. They take place between August 14 and September 1.

He will also be available for Tottenham's opening game of the Premier League season at Newcastle on 11 August before travelling to Indonesia to represent South Korea at the Asian Games.
