UK Police Identify Novichok Poisoning Suspects

Ex-Russian Spy Sergei Skripal And Daughter Yulia Assassination Attempt CCTV Identifies'Russian Suspects Behind Poisoning

British police examining CCTV footage have reportedly identified multiple Russian suspects believed to have carried out the March nerve-agent attack on former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter.

Now, British police believe they have identified Russian suspects behind the attack.

The Times understands that links to the GRU are being examined as part of the investigation into the botched attempt to kill Sergei Skripal, the former Russian double agent, and his daughter.

Both have recovered and are being held in a secret location for their safety, with the United Kingdom government pointing the finger at the Kremlin for the attempted assassination.

Sergei Skripal was an intelligence agent for both Russian Federation and Britain, leading some to question whether the poisoning was an act of retribution. A British investigation concluded that Russian Federation was responsible for the attack, identifying the substance involved as a Novichok nerve agent, which is a military-grade chemical dating back to the Soviet era.

Police yesterday began searching Salisbury's Queen Elizabeth Gardens, which Sturgess and Rowley visited shortly before they fell ill. Dawn Sturgess, 44, later died, while her partner Charlie Rowley, 45, remains in hospital.

The Met Police, who is leading the investigation, and the Home Office have both declined to comment.

Their sense of urgency has been compounded by the death of Dawn Sturgess, whose inquest was opened and adjourned today.

On Wednesday, worldwide chemical weapons experts completed their investigations in Amesbury, where they sought to identify whether the substance that poisoned the couple was from the same batch used against the Skripals. Sturgess apparently sprayed the agent onto her skin.

They're not known to be spies or to have been used in other attacks before. They set out to determine the place and time of death as well as how the deceased came by their death, but do not apportion blame.

More than 400 exhibits, samples and items have been recovered by police investigating the poisoning of the couple. "But because the British side still does not provide anything to the Russian side, and moreover, presented nothing to its allies, then what is there to actually discuss?".

On Wednesday, police started a search of the Queen Elizabeth Gardens in Salisbury.

"These are media reports, unfortunately there are no official statements from the British side".
