Barry Chuckle dies aged 73

Nicholas ‘Duffy’ Fudge was best known for starring on the show Wicked Tuna

Veteran entertainer Barry Chuckle, one half of famous comedy duo the Chuckle Brothers, has died at the age of 73, his manager said.

Along with his brother Paul he was appointed honorary presidents of the Millers in 2007.

Barry Chuckle death: Who was Chuckle Brothers star married to? Together, they were the stars of the BBC's show ChuckleVision, which ran for 21 seasons between 1987 and 2009.

"Barry loved the Millers, and we loved Barry".

His partner in the comedy duo the Chuckle Brothers, Paul said: "I've not just lost my brother, I've lost my theatrical partner of many, many years and my very best friend".

The club tweeted: "Everyone at #rufc are deeply saddened this morning to learn of the passing of our life president, supporter and friend Barry "Chuckle" Elliott, aged 73".

The sad news was confirmed by his manager Phil Dale, who confirmed Barry had passed away surrounded by family.

The Elliott family, which consists of Paul, his two brothers Brian, Jimmy, and Colin, as well as their sister Sheila, also released a statement.

A statement from Barry's family said the entertainer "leaves 50 years of laughter as his legacy which is something very special".

More recently though Jimmy hit the headlines after tying the knot with a fan nearly 60 years his junior whom he met on Facebook.

The star, whose real name is Barry Elliott, had not been well towards the end of the filming and summer work was cancelled whilst he rested at his doctor's request. Not long after this, his health deteriorated.
