AC Milan can't afford Man Utd target Milinkovic-Savic - Leonardo

Manchester United are reportedly set to make a huge transfer offer for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic this week.

The Red Devils initially earmarked him as a replacement for Marouane Fellaini but, when the Belgium global stayed put, they eased off.

Serbia worldwide Milinkovic-Savic is among Europe's most sought-after talents, and has been regularly linked with Manchester United and Juventus as well as Milan.

"Therefore Pogba is going to have to settle down and get on with the project at Manchester United".

The Serbian midfielder has been widely linked with a move away from Lazio this summer but for the moment his future remains unresolved.

Barcelona want to sign the France global and Mino Raiola, Pogba's agent, has given them encouragement.

Lazio President Claudio Lotito will not consider any offers for the midfielder that are below €120m.

As noted by La Stampa, Juventus are also interested in the 23-year-old, while Calciomercato recently linked him with Chelsea in a potential swap deal involving Charly Musonda.

"Milinkovic-Savic is younger, fits the same prototype as Pogba in terms of physicality, ability, vision, passing, range etc, is available from Lazio and would cost less to buy that United sell Pogba for".

Milan have just signed Gonzalo Higuain from Juve in a major show of ambition, and Milinkovic-Savic would be another statement purchase after establishing himself as one of the finest midfielders in Europe at the Stadio Olimpico.

Meanwhile, United legend Ole Gunnar Solksjaer has urged United to keep Pogba. The Serbian midfielder has developed into one of the most exciting midfielders in the game, since moving to Lazio back in 2015 from Belgian side Genk.

"I had him with David [Gray] and Etzaz [Hussain] who is playing for me tomorrow".
