Dana White Addresses Conor McGregor's UFC Ownership Demands

Conor McGregor

The UFC reigning lightweight champion's father who has trained him since his early steps in the sport and still trains him, hasn't attended neither of his son's fights on American soil due to the USA visa issues that have dogged him ever since Khabib debuted in the octagon in 2012. The amount of money McGregor will receive for the fight will be revealed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission ahead of the bout.

"No, we haven't talked, but it sounds like we will", White said.

Georges St-Pierre is interested in returning to fight the victor of the upcoming Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. "They've got to entice me". Yeah. However, I fought at 170, I relinquished a title.

In the months since giving up the title, St-Pierre has explained in-depth that bulking up to 185 pounds from his longtime frame as a welterweight led to some stomach issues. For UFC, it's a big risk for them.

The reality here is that White isn't necessarily backed into a corner where he would require the star power of St-Pierre for a lightweight title fight after UFC 229 in Las Vegas. "He might as well be though". "He might as well be though, he's making so much f--ing money". "He's making so much fucking money he might as well be a part owner".

McGregor's disclosed purse will be revealed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission ahead of his fight on October 6 plus the former two-division champion will also receive pay-per-view compensation for what's expected to be the biggest card for the UFC in 2018. He'll also get a cut of the pay-per-view revenue for arguably the most anticipated fight in UFC history. This, of course, would again entail St-Pierre jumping the line for a shot at championship gold, and that doesn't seem like something UFC president Dana White is too enthused about making happen again.

"Not at all", White answered when asked how hard it was to seal the deal for McGregor vs. Nurmagomedov. "Everybody wants to fight".
