Harry Potter marathon coming to Jacksonville theater for 20th anniversary

Between physical copies, digital downloads, and frequent airings on TV, it's easy for fans to watch and rewatch the Harry Potter films.

To mark the 20th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone - the book that introduced the world to a certain young boy with a lightning-bolt scar - the Cinemark theater chain is re-releasing all of the Potter films at locations across the country from August 31-Sept. 6. For dedicated fans, the theater is offering a limited number of $25 festival passes to see all nine of the films. Looking further afield, Warner Bros.is now adding the finishing touches to The Crimes of Grindelwald, starring Jude Law and Johnny Depp, ahead of its theatrical release in November.

Wizarding World XD Week comes 20 years after the first book in the series, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone, was released in the United States in September 1998. Each film is just $5 per screening.

"Experience the magic of the Wizarding World come to life through 35 trillion colors and custom engineered surround sound at our Cinemark XD auditoriums", the website reads.

Further details on participating locations can be found through Cinemark's dedicated site, though fair warning: it's now a little sluggish as eager Potterhead rush to book their tickets for what will no doubt be an unmissable event. There are only 141 Cinemark XD theaters in the US, and some states that have a limited number of theaters don't have any suited for XD.
