Jordan Ayew completes season-long loan to Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace set to complete loan deal for Swansea's Jordan Ayew

Ed Dove is a writer and scout who has a deep and enduring passion for African sport, politics and literature.

Ghana worldwide Jordan Ayew has completed a move to Premier League side Crystal Palace on loan, joining from relegated Swansea City.

The Eagles announced the deal on their official website nearly two hours after the transfer window closed, with the Ghana worldwide becoming their fourth signing of the window.

He had an underwhelming campaign last season, scoring 11 goals in 44 appearances as Swansea City were relegated to the Championship, with then-manager Paul Clement unable to steer them away from relegation.

Ayew moved to Swansea in January 2017 where he later reunited with older brother Andre, but 18 months later he suffered another relegation with Swansea, despite being named player of the year.

"I am very pleased to be here", he told the Palace website.

But Crystal Palace have put in work to make sure they will still sign Ayew and, according to the BBC, have put the finishing touches to a season-long loan agreement. I am looking forward to playing with the boys and meet the fans, and hopefully itll be a good season. However, no one has come close to meeting Palace's £70million evaluation so far. He was also part of the squad that reached the final of the 2015 African Cup of Nations, and represented the Black Stars at the 2014 World Cup.

He also has 46 caps for his country, where he has scored a total of 12 goals but has now joined the Eagles and he could make his debut on Saturday when Palace travel to Craven Cottage to face Fulham in their Premier League opener.
