Palm-branded 3.3-inch smartphone in the works

Now codenamed as the Palm Pepito, the phone is reported to have a minuscule 3.3-inch display with a resolution of just 720p on an LCD panel.

In an age where smartphone displays are regularly going past 6-inches in size, Palm's Pepito has opted for a 3.3-inch display with a 720p HD resolution, making it one of the smallest devices to be sold in recent years.

The phone is somewhat unremarkable to look at, but it's at least interesting in the sense that Palm may try and do something that doesn't exactly match current smartphone trends. Keeping the lights on will supposedly be a small 800mAh capacity battery. It's a cute little bugger, although the mockups here just look like an Apple Watch made into a bad Android mini-phone.

What the source doesn't say is how much the Pepito will cost or when it will launch, but it sounds like it might not be widely available, as all they know on that front is that it's coming to Verizon in the US.

Now the rest of the interior picks up quite a bit with 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which is quite the punch for such a tiny package.

Why are we talking about it with those specs?

Taking things at face value, Palm has been known for intuitive user interfaces in diminutive form factors (even in contemporary perspective). Otherwise, I have no idea.
