Why Meghan Markle always has her hands in her pockets

Tom Hardy and his wife attend the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on May 19 in Windsor England

According to James, Markle's decision to shove her hands in her pockets signals a desire to hide and minimize one's appearance.

Judi says that typically when a person places their hands in their pocket, it's an indicator that they want to hide.

While Alanis Morissette most definitely made having one hand in your pocket a thing, Meghan Markle most likely isn't channeling the "Jagged Little Pill" singer with her latest wardrobe choice.

In an interview with OK! magazine, Judi James, a body-language expert and author of the 2008 book, The Body Language Bible, explained why the Duchess of Sussex is nearly always seen with her hands hidden in her pockets, if she has them.

It's no secret that royal tradition dictates a lot of what Meghan Markle can and cannot do, from why she no longer wears non-neutral nail polish to the reason you will never see her crossing her legs in public.

A quick search on YouTube and you'll also find Meghan circa 2015 talking her favourite fashion week moments with Yahoo Lifestyle hosts Joe Zee and Kristin Cavallari - but it's on The Today Show where she styles models for the catwalk, Gok Wan-style. "It is also a probable nod to her love of 50's styling".

Meghan is often photographed with her hands in her pockets and one body language expert reckons that that's very telling of how she's really feeling. "She also loves slouchy coats and jackets and the same fashion rule of "wearing" the tailoring would apply with them too".

She told the United States publication, 'Prince Charles does it, Prince Harry does it and even little Prince George has been seen doing it, but Meghan might be the first royal woman to shove her hand into a pocket when she's out in public'.
