England vs India, second Test, day four

England's Chris Woakes celebrates with teammates after taking the wicket of India's captain Virat Kohli

He gets to 30 and is now the top-scorer in both the innings for India. yes, he has been India's best batsman in this Test and fair to assume that he will remain by the end of the Test.

In the second test match between England vs India at Lord's cricket stadium in London, Virat Kohli and company will look forward to bounce back on track.

But Chris Woakes (120*) and Johnny Bairstow (93) had other ideas. On the Day 2, English bowlers used the conditions perfectly and restricted India for just 107 runs in the first innings. It's an incredible feeling to raise your bat at Lord's and be on that Honours Board. Their 189 run stand for the sixth wicket put England back in command and in 250 run lead.

James Anderson passed 100 Test wickets at Lord's and moved up to 551 overall as England reduced India to 17-2 in their second innings before the rain returned on day four of the second Test at Lord's.

Mohammed Shami (3-74) removed Keaton Jennings (11) and then England captain Joe Root (19) with the last ball before lunch - both of them leg-before dismissals - to leave England 89-4 at the end of the opening session.

Five balls later Jennings´s fellow left-handed opener Alastair Cook (21) was out as well, caught behind off a superb Sharma delivery from around the wicket that squared him up and seamed away before finding the outside edge.

Woakes also said Bairstow and his plan was to see off the seamers and take it easy.

"I was probably getting a little bit nervous", Woakes said. I hope they go for the former.

And in his 25th match at this level, Woakes surpassed his previous Test best of 66, made against Sri Lanka at Lord´s two years ago, before completing a 129-ball hundred, including 15 fours, with a pulled three off Hardik Pandya.
