Resident Evil 2 Remake Gets A Typewriter-Inspired Bluetooth Keyboard In Japan

It's no surprise to see versions of games costing a couple hundred dollars or more and including anything from mini statues to movie DVDs to a bunch of useless crap.

The remake of Resident Evil 2 is a treat for fans, but serious collectors can get some very unique goodies-at least, if they live in Japan or want to pay for an import.

As of now, it appears as if limited Premium Edition packages for Resident Evil 2 are going to be available in Japan only, as the American website for Capcom currently doesn't show the rather expensive special edition for pre-order. It includes a Bluetooth keyboard and is priced at a jaw-dropping $900.

This Lexington vintage typewriter is bluetooth enabled, comes with a charging cable, reportedly has an active battery life of up to seven days, and is compatible with Windows computers and MacOS, as well as iOS a Android devices. The return bar is actually a completely programmable macro key, and the paper roller knobs on either side are actually volume and mouse scroll controls. That said, though, it's worth noting that the Collector's Edition won't have the Lexington vintage typewriter keyboard. Excluding the keyboard, all of the above is included in the game's standard collector's edition, which is priced at around $240.

Most collector's edition memorabilia, like the replica EndoArm from Terminator 2, the Big Daddy and Little Sister statue from BioShock or even the Pip-Boy from Fallout 4, aren't really good for much more than sitting on a shelf and looking neat.

The Biohazard RE: 2 Z Version Premium Edition is now exclusive to Capcom's Japanese online store, priced at 99,800 yen ($900).
