Sonali Bendre Behl's son Ranveer turns 13 today and on the occasion of his birthday, the actress shared a heartwarming post on her social media pages.

Further, she added, "We've always been open and honest with him and this time it wasn't going to be different". From then on, his happiness and wellbeing have been the centre of anything @goldiebehl and I ever did. He took the news so maturely... and instantly became a source of strength and positivity for me.

The actress some time back revealed through her social media accounts that she is suffering from high-grade cancer that has metastasised. She has always been a bright and warm person but it was only in the 15 days that he got the opportunity to know her better and spend some quality time in NY. She has documented each phase of braving the disease and has emerged as a really strong person. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. His madness and shenanigans help me #SwitchOnTheSunshine. "And I can easily say, 'She is my HERO, '" he wrote on Twitter. "There is no better way to tackle this, than to take swift and immediate action".

It was a rude shock for Bollywood fans when Sonali Bendre announced that she had a high-grade cancer that had metasised, and she needed to go the USA for treatment. We remain optimistic and I am determined to fight every step of the way. The diva quit the show earlier this year after she was diagnosed with cancer. "I'm taking this battle head on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me". Yes, there are moments of pain and low energy, but I am doing what I like, spending time with people I love, and feeling very loved and happy. "I have the best friends in the world!" She has kept a courageous front and has proved to be a fighter. In between their busy schedules they find time to visit, call, message, FaceTime... basically never leaving a moment for me to feel alone. Thank you for showing me what true friendship is. We know for sure that Sonali is a survivor and she will come out of the grip of this ugly C.
