Destiny 2 Forsaken Will Not Have Heroic Strikes And Prestige Nightfalls

Destiny 2 Forsaken

Destiny 2 Forsaken will bring huge changes to Strikes, Nightfalls and in-Director Milestones and more, Bungie has recently advised.

Bungie has advised that Heroic Strikes will be retired on 28 August alongside Destiny 2 update 2.0.

It's all part of the pre-expansion patch rolling out on August 28, which introduces Power 300, 400, and 500 options for Vanguard Strikes.

Strikes will also have modifiers, much like current Nightfall activities. This edition will include Destiny 2, Destiny 2: Expansion I: Curse of Osiris, Destiny 2: Expansion II: Warmind, and Destiny 2: Forsaken, the largest and most transformative expansion to the Destiny 2 experience yet. Because Heroic Strikes are being removed, this 200 Power playlist will also be getting modifiers. Bungie has to keep some things specific to the Forsaken DLC.

Legacy players will have the chance to pick modifiers from the Challenge Card, although scoring won't be active in the 270 Power Nightfall. One from each expansion provided that they have bought them.

The meditation missions are also going to be changed a bit. The idea is to have the Power of the gear you find always be above what you now have, even if just by one level. In it, you'll find Forsaken campaign missions at 500 Power, as well as missions from earlier campaigns at various Power levels relative to their release.

Because of this, Ikora's Vanguard Research reputation tokens are being removed, and so is the Legendary parade gear she now offers. Mars and Mercury will not receive these changes, although players will be able to take one extra adventure during Flashpoint week. One of those aspects has to do with the strike activities in the game.

Year 1 challenges that granted reputation tokens are being retired, but will be replaced by bounties offered on each destination that provide destination materials. Which you can read in full at the link. The activities which include the Strikes and Nightfalls, the hard versions of which are being removed.Heroic strikes and prestige Nightfalls will instead be replaced with a more streamlined system, created to accommodate players who purchase Forsaken, as well as those that don't.
