AJ McCarron of Buffalo Bills suffers right collarbone fracture

Report Bills QB A.J. Mc Carron fractures collarbone in preseason game

The Josh Allen era might begin a little earlier than originally planned in Buffalo.

McCarron exited the contest in the first quarter, and the Bills later ruled him out for the game.

Now things have gotten that much more interesting in Buffalo with McCarron suffering a major injury during Friday's preseason game against the Cleveland Browns.

Rapoport was confirming a report on late Friday night from the Buffalo News' Vic Carucci and notes that there is no timeline for the 27-year-old Alabama product's return.

Following the win, head coach Sean McDermott said the quarterback will undergo further tests on his throwing shoulder, but couldn't provide further details, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

McCarron started the game against the Browns and played four drives.

Allen dazzled with both his arm and his footwork, going 9 of 13 for 60 yards, a touchdown, and a 104.6 passer rating. Allen led Buffalo to points on all three of his drives - two field goals and a 2-yard touchdown pass to Rod Streater. Although Allen put some pressure on the veteran, McCarron might've been the smart the choice to be under center to start the 2018 National Football League season while the promising young rookie develops. He spent four seasons with Cincinnati, playing in 11 games and starting three as Andy Dalton's backup.
