Carl Frampton defeats Luke Jackson with ninth-round stoppage at Windsor Park

Carl Frampton has denied overlooking Windsor Park opponent Luke Jackson.

Carl Frampton, right, in action against Luke Jackson in their WBO Interim Featherweight title fight at Windsor Park in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Saturday Aug. 18, 2018.

It is also little secret that until his defeat by Warrington, Wales' Lee Selby was in contention to instead be Frampton's opponent before Jackson's selection.

Both fighters are under the promotional banner of Frank Warren, which makes the fight easy to make, and Boxing Scene understands that the fight is being targeted for a November date, with both fighters feeling that it's only right that it happens on neutral ground.

"He performed well. He looked nice and relaxed in there and I am looking to get the fight", said Warrington.

"I have got a lot of respect for him but this is boxing and you want to fight the best".

'Windsor Park is something I've wanted for a very, very long time.

'I'm so happy this past year; everything's flipped for me. Everything's flipped for me. Before, I was winning but not enjoying it'.

Moore, who oversaw perhaps the finest performance of Frampton's career when he defeated Nonito Donaire in April, explained: "I would have been more anxious if we'd been back at the SSE Arena, and he was fighting Luke Jackson, because then there may have been the possibility of him overlooking him".

Hobart boxer Luke Jackson's hopes of a world title have been dashed after his team threw in the towel in the ninth round.

Frampton's next bout is likely to be for a world title later this year. "I believe we're going to do the same again".
