Man unknowingly carried $50m Powerball ticket in wallet for two days

A Sydney man has claimed his $50m share of the $100m Powerball draw

If you bought a Powerball ticket in Narwee in Sydney's south for Thursday's $100 million Powerball draw, you just might be the victor of half of it.

"This morning I heard the victor was from the Bankstown area and they hadn't found them yet".

Two entries have grabbed a $50 million slice of the equal-largest division one lottery prize pool in Australian history.

"It's very unexpected. I've only had this store for less than two months", she said.

He said he usually checks his tickets "every few weeks" but got his son to check the numbers online this morning after hearing the mystery victor was still out there. "I hope the victor checks their ticket soon and is united with their prize".

"I'm still in shock, I can't describe it".

He plays lotto regularly and said he and his wife worked hard all of their lives to provide for their family.

"It's insane! It's a lot of money to win", he said.

"The reason we've seen queues out the door is we've all got that hope and it's nice to dream", Dr Jenkinson told AAP.

"I've been telling all my customers we sold the division one winning ticket".

The Lott said the Sydney entry was unregistered while the online entrant hadn't supplied complete contact details.

The man, aged in his 20s, said he's just trying to "remain as calm as possible" after he learned of his massive win.

"I'm going to do the right thing".

"I'm going to look after my whole family - invest money in property and shares".

The lottery operator estimates one in three adults had a ticket in the draw.

The other division one victor from the draw was a Melbourne man in his 20s, who discovered his good fortune yesterday morning.

Anyone who purchased their Powerball entry from Broadarrow Newsagency is urged to check their ticket immediately.

The winning numbers were 3, 13, 27, 31, 32, 33, 35 and the powerball 3.
