Active shooter reported at office building in Wisconsin

Active shooter incident in Middleton

Police in Wisconsin are now responding to a shooting at an commercial building, WISC-TV reports.

The Middleton police department sent out an alert stating: "ACTIVE SHOOTER: 1800 Deming Way Officers and emergency personnel are on the scene on an active shooter in the 1800 block of Deming Way in the City of Middleton".

Judy Lahmers, a business analyst at WTS Paradigm, said she was working at her desk when she heard shots at about 10 a.m. She says it shouldn't be odd that a black woman is knocking on doors in 2018. She didn't have any other information.

Another unconfirmed source said the shooter was being taken to hospital.

Andrew King, an employee at an area building, said he saw a man with a handgun going inside another building.

"We knew at that point that something was going down".

At least 40 people were gathered in the hotel's parking lot, waiting to be interviewed by police. Multiple businesses are listed at the location. Police have set up a perimeter around the building. The office is located at 1850 Demming Way in Middleton, located about seven miles west of Madison and 90 miles west of Milwaukee.
