At least 30 people hurt after Jet Airways plane loses cabin pressure

Oxygen masks fall down on plane to Mumbai air pressure mishap

Subsequently, the probe was transferred to the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), which is tasked to investigate serious incidents and accidents.

Jet Airways suspended two pilots for five years in January after a male pilot slapped his female co-pilot during a flight from London to Mumbai.

The plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport approximately one hour after it took off due to low air pressure inside the cabin.

The carrier is among those struggling to make money in the Indian market, where competition has driven fares below cost.

According to witnesses onboard, passengers started complaining of a severe headaches and difficulty in breathing as the airplane climbed, and shortly afterwards, some also started bleeding from their nose and ears. Many passengers have complained of headache.

Footage from passengers showed people wearing their oxygen masks as the flight returned to Mumbai.

The civil aviation ministry has taken note of the situation and has requested the aviation regulator DGCA to file its report immediately on the issue.

"During climb, the crew forgot to select bleed switch due to which cabin pressurisation could not be maintained".

The passengers are being treated at Mumbai airport.

The flight was re-scheduled to take off from Mumbai at 10.15 am, reported ANI.

Another Twitter user, Melissa Tixeira, posted a video of the purported aircraft after it landed.

"Scores of passengers including me bleeding from nose". All guests were deplaned safely and taken to the terminal. "The airline is making alternative flight arrangements for guests on this flight", the airline said.

Citing initial information, the official said few passengers suffered nose bleeding.
