Since it has become so hard to deliver innovation in smartphones given the maturity of the products, Huawei has turned to their earbuds for some inspiration in creative ways to combine functions and offer consumers a unique selling point. The new Huawei Freebuds 2 Pro will be wireless earbuds specifically created to work well with the AI embedded in the Kirin 980 processor powering the Mate 20. Looking closely at the renders, it is likely that the company had added wireless charging to the case of the earphones that can be charged with the help of a Huawei Mate 20 Pro device. According to Quandt, the Freebuds have three hours of listening, extended to 20 hours with charges from the case, just like the AirPods.

While many power users might balk at handing battery power over from their smartphone (which probably barely makes it through a day already on its own), you've gotta admit that the notion of using your smartphone to charge something else is pretty cool.

That could be a game-changing disruption that could genuinely shake up the mobile industry, and would nearly certainly see the Mate 20 or Mate 20 Pro slide effortlessly into our prestigious best smartphones guide.

Some other differences between the regular Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro include the fingerprint readers the devices will feature, as the base model opts for a traditional sensor, while the Pro version will sport an in-display reader.

It looks like Huawei will release a new Apple AirPods ripoff, the Huawei Freebuds 2 Pro.

The Huawei Freebuds 2 Pro will have an undeniable AirPod vibe, but the alleged charging system seems rad.
